We just fixed our Rate Controller. When trying to force software to the Rate Controller there are two Rate Controllers in the Reprogramming screen, GS2 Rate Controller V1 and GS2 Rate Controller.

The Rate Controller V1 no software under the version or the Card. The Rate Controller showed no software under the version but did show 2.02F under the card. No amount of button pushing would allow reprogramming.

The dealer had a card with Jan 2008 update on it. We installed this and reprogrammed Rate Controller. This worked and installed 2.01K. We then installed the card with the Aug 2008 update and updated the Rate Controller to 2.02F.

Long story short- UNHOOK THE RATE CONTROLLER WHEN STARFIRE AND RATE CONTROLLER BOTH NEED UPDATES.

Lesson learned.
