NW Iowa
Agree, they have made it too easy to farm, and allowed poor farmers to look good. Monsanto is not the largest company by far when you look at the total package. They are solely agricultural. As their products go, so does ther company. They wouldn't be successfull fi the farmer didn't prosper. They don't have paint, meds, plastics, etc. to fall back on. Actually Dupont, Bayer, BASF, Dow, Syngenta are much larger and yet Monsanto spends 96 million dollars a year in research, where the next closest competitior spends around 23 million. The biggest mistake they made was calling it a royalty fee, or tech fee when RR Beans were introduced. It should have just been included in the price. Monsanto also produces all of its round-up here in the U.S.A. with plants in Lulling, Loisiana and Muscatine, Iowa. All product is also sourced here within the U.S. not China like people seem to think, but oh they know so much.
