Non goosenecks don't even get looked at.

I thought that with my F250 pulling the neighbor's gooseneck about 15 years ago. We drove right past the Inkom POE, knowing we were under the 28,000# posted requiring us to stop.

I found out it didn't work that way with a gooseneck. About five miles down the road a trooper ran us down, read me the riot act, measured and inspected. He pulled my driver's license, making me drive several miles to the next exit and return to Inkom to be weighed. Weight was fine (they didn't fuss over 10,000# limits back then) so they fussed over the cdl, which I had, the medical card which I had. They then said my F250 was not licensed for the weight. And I had not taken a log book.

"Yes sir" and "No sir" do not come easy when you know they are just messing with you and you are trying to out run a snow storm and darkness, BUT they are important. The worst part was them saying I was corrupting my nephew who went along for the trip. Their governor never responded to my letter. LOL

Good luck. Do not give them an excuse to pull you over.
