Didn't buy a ticket but had the first calf of the season sneak in on us last night/this morning. Brother found her calf out there cold but alive this afternoon at the other place. Brought her (heifer calf) into the basement and put a quart of colostrum mix down her and after she warmed up a bit we put her in the garage on some old clothes and I threw an old flannel shirt over her. Went out to the other place, and while setting up catch pen the mother came over and pretty much walked right into the pen. Came back, got trailer, went back loaded up cow and hauled her to brother's place where she'll be in a warmer barn. Got back here to find calf up and walking in the garage. Took calf to brother's and she seemed to be getting after the mother.
