Lincoln, NE | It's NEVER smart to fly in high winds - but when you find yourself needing to:
Position your flight area up-wind from your home point so your RTH is down wind. Or said another way - position your Home Point down wind from your work.
When auto-returning-home, most of these aircraft throttle back to slower more efficient flight speeds (by firmware design).
If your home point is upwind - and the above RTH speed is 15 mph - and the wind is, say 15 mph or above - you actually loose ground unless you over-ride with manual input.
Also - always learn to take-off, fly, and land manually - there will be times you need to know these skills.
Just my suggestions - "for-what-its- worth". | |
