Dwight IL | first, a phantom 3 will do imaging but definatley wont cover 10,000 ac effectively. secondly, dont custom build anything, there are plenty of options on the market.
If you are looking to cover 10k ac in a year, the only way to do it effectively is with a winged machine, not a copter style. Copters are great for scouting and basic imagry but arent quick enough to cover acres the way you would want to. IMHO the best option for anyone who wants to do imaging effectively would be the Ag Eagle. Its a winged machine that flys at a working speed of 34mph, is all ipad controlled (you program your flight and simply let it do its thing). While in flight it uploads all the pics to Drone Deploy where they are then processed and sent back down to your ipad. Its just that quick and easy.
Flight times vary with wind but average 30 min or more, and in that time you can easily cover more than 160 ac. I have personal experience doing so. | |
