Subject: Re: Deere free signal....re SF1

Chebanse, IL.....

SS in IL...I have questions if you don't mind.

I know little or nothing about JD stuff. We personally use Trimble/AL up here ( NE IL). But I notice you said you plant (corn?) w/SF1. However, I've talked to JD dealer & local neighbor/friends JD users recently re. JD systems. It seems SF1 use isn't very common here. Neighbor said he used it 1 yr for tillage (chisel-field cult, they use "2" for planting), then switched to SF2 for tillage. He wasn't happy w/accuracy of "1". Dealer said they sell primarily "2" systems, that "1" users usually switch, though he does have a happy "1" user.

So-can you say that "1" works w/100% reliability? Apparently good enough for planting corn?

What about initial capture time of SF1? I get mixed reports on that also. Again, I'm familiar w/Trimble. I think SF1 is similar to WAAS? I'd guess capture time of WAAS to be around 30 seconds on our place. I'm talking about initial startup of receiver if you're sitting outside.

Thanks
