Dwight IL | You should always have the compass calibrated. NEVER fly without it. Now im not saying that you need to do it everytime, but if you travel a distance away from where you last set up the compass then recalibrate it, it only takes a second.
Secondly, GPS has nothing to do with the compass. Dont treat them as one in the same. ALWAYS be sure you have GPS locked in before you take off, otherwise you run a high risk of a flyaway
