Subject: RE: Update - #2 "physical width"

Central SD
We have been running with all 3 combines set at 34'5". Every once in awhile we get sliver of wheat row left at one point or another along the last swath.
But for the most part, its been working pretty good. Other than calibration, another thing we changed in the settings of the SF1 machine was "physical width" (was set @ 35') to the same width we have the track width set at 34.4. The SF1 machine has a brand new 2600 display, and it is the only display that has the option of entering a physical width. Spent about a 1/2 hour on the phone with Stellar support trying to figure what physical width of a grain head has to do with autosteering, when that measurement is about 20" wider than the true cut width.

To really confuse the mix, the last couple of days we have thrown in another combine with a 30' head and no autosteer. Don't know how they're doing it
(I'm just a truck driver) but the combine operators got it working out. I think they're leaving him 5 swaths to do on his own, that he can have room to spare in 6 swaths.
