Subject: RE: Strobilurins do have curative properties on rust

A quick google search revealed the link to that study. http://www.sweetcorn.uiuc.edu/common-rust/Rust%20Cide%20MWFPA.doc

I can always remember getting grief about rust from my Sweet Corn growers years ago. We always applied Tilt, because at the time we didn't have Quilt yet and possibly if I recall, I don't think Quadris was labeled yet. I think Quadris (for sweet corn) got its label in '06 (could be wrong on that date) so we couldn't use it anyway. It's routine to use strobi's on Sweet corn now, which could explain why we don't see rust that much anymore. I will say this; I have seen where University results cannot be replicated on the farm for whatever reason. I have also seen almost every chemical (that we use) fail for no apparent reason. I guess if you get over enough acres you eventually will get snake eyes.

Thanks for bringing that information to my attention.
