Subject: I think we have quit planting ...

West Union, Illinois

I said I would plant beans until I ran out of ground or beans.  I may have done both.  I have 8-10 acres worth in the 30"planter we forgot about or I'd have poured them in the drill Friday.  At this point in time I have 50 acres or so of wheat I could still double crop, but generally non-irrigated sand is a poor choice for double crop.

I have 40 acres we have not been able to touch this year, and another 100 or so that needs replanted that has not dried out enough to even drive an ATV across. I had been holding off planting the double crop beans until we finished it, but I gave up Friday and put beans in the ground anyplace we could get them until the drill ran dry.

What is really starting to bother me is RR corn and beans that need sprayed.  Can you legally spray Roundup with a plane?  Come to think of it the corn is over 30" tall ... it may need drops.
