Looking at switching from feeding out steers to having a small herd of 15 to 20 cows. I have some pasture and enough crops acres to feed them cheap. My question is how would you build your heard? Bred heifers or just buy heifers? Also would you set your self up to spring or fall calf? In Ohio if that matters.
