Yep. I talked to a guy a few months ago who breeds racehorses and thats all he feeds his is round bale silage.




Ditto on most of what RodinNS said. A few guys have had marginal success with belted silage special balers, but steel rollers is far and away the most popular kind of baler here. Welger owned the market and had loads of balers here. McHale seems to be popular now. Claas has some but I don't see many right around here. The McHale will eat a bigger wad than a New Holland FX60 chopper.

There is a difference between damp hay(30%) and silage(60-70%). Thats probably what will determine if belts will work for you or not.
