Southeast MN | I found the limit on how wet to run a single spade with a standard wheel this spring. Could almost squeeze water out of the dirtball I made when checking depth.
Fall burndown sod, if it matters. The seed trench was closing, but when it dried the slot opened up some making the effective planting depth 1/2" -3/4" instead of 1 3/4 inches. I think the two wheel setup would have been better, but it was only 3 acres. Now the stand is so -so, still above the replant threshold but I should have waited for it to dry. | |
