There are two methods of re-booting.
With the unit unplugged, hold the top two buttons on the left side down. Plug in the 500 and wait for the progress bar to start moving slowly from the left to the right. You can now release the two buttons. If you use this restart, you will reset all options to the factory defaults, but you will not erase the memory of the unit. As long as you have saved your configuration in the Data Management section, you will be able to retrieve it and start fresh. It is not a bad idea to save everything on a USB drive first, though. The second, and more radical, method involves holding down all three buttons on the left side while you plug in the unit. This option resets all options to factory defaults AND erases all the memory. You must save what you want saved to a USB drive when doing this method.
