| Of possible interest to my fellow Mac Fanboys and girls..... As you may or may not know, this week is Apple's WWDC. If you didn't happen to watch Jobs' keynote, here's a link to online video: http://events.apple.com.edgesuite.net/0806wdt546x/event/index.html Anyhow, most of the keynote was spent talking about the new iPhone 3G, iPhone 2.0 software, and the related SDK. Early on in his presentation, he does mention OS 10.6 "Snow Leopard" that is being seeded to developers this week with projected release in about a year. From what I've been able to gather about this new OS, they are not planning to release any new features over 10.5 Leopard, but will be concentrating on stability, security, and reducing it's size - trimming the fat, reducing bloat. Now there is a novel concept to any fan of Windows! ;) 10.6 will be Intel only, leaving PowerPC behind. It will also be "designed" specifically for multi-core processors. They are extending 64 bit technology and the new OS will be capable of supporting up to 16 TERABYTES of RAM - yes, that is correct TB, not GB! Gee, it sure is nice to be on this side of the fence after all those years of dealing with Win and see a company that will take the initiative to spend a great deal of time and resources on keeping my choice of OS stable, secure, and trim! http://www.apple.com/macosx/snowleopard/
