What file format are you coverage and swath maps? Shape files?
Presuming that they are, transfer them to a folder on your computer from the flash drive. Start a new project in Arc Explorer. Add the files to the project.
It's been a couple of years since I played with Arc Explorer, but that's somewhat like I remember....
