never have to worry about "pointing" your remote again. we did the IR thing for awhile, but got tired of having to find the sweet spot pointing the remote.... the RF battery transmitters are so sweet.
just a tip..
when we did have the IR transmitters, we it setting on the coffee table next to the couch, so operator couold "point" it at close range
