Fargo, ND | In a Virtual Reference Station CORS like Minnesota's you just have to be inside the network. When you are hooked up to it your coordinates are sent to the system and it creates a virtual base station at your approximate location so 1 mile or 25 miles from a physical reference station shouldn't matter. I've heard you shouldn't be more than 10 miles outside the network. Attached is the map of the Minnesota network.
