| I am getting in the same spot. I don't think there is a good way to get to using the big shaft as standard. You can't buy a 12 or 14 series yoke with 1 3/4 spline, right? I suppose they won't make one cause it won't stand the power. Then the product liability of someone putting way more power thru a lite drive line than it will handle. I agree the adapters are a bad answer. On the other hand, the complete shaft assembly with the proper end is brutally expensive if you need 30 - 50 hp.
Sort of like all the different electrical plugs. 240v 20a single phase, 240v 30a 3 phase, 50 amp single phase welder plug, ad infinitum. Things that used to work on 2 wires now take 4, but they are safer so it is good. | |
