Subject: Jimmy Dickens Funeral

West Cental Arkansas
Just watched Little Jimmy Dickens funeral at the Grand Old Opry. It was aired on RFD tv. What a tribute to a life.

I have been to the Opry and Little Jimmy was there that night. Didn't keep up with him that much. It was amazing how the stars revealed their stories of how Little Jimmy welcomed and encouraged them in their early part of their careers.

The preacher, who was Little Jimmy's pastor, did a splendid job. Told stories of remembering Jimmy when the pastor was just a youngster, then continued on with their relationship of pastor and church-member and also as man to man. The pastor directed his sermon to end along this line... this will not be the last funeral we attend, there will be more funerals. In the words of the pastor, there will be a funeral for you and there will be a funeral for me. Then the pastor said, when it is time for your funeral will you be ready.

It was a beautiful funeral service, the pastor did excellent, if you get a chance to watch it on TV, do, the pastor will make you think. God bless.
