Subject: Antenna to Axle offset - What's the deal?

I have read that where the antenna is located can make a big difference to how ez-steer will perform with both the ez+ and the ez 500.

This is my understanding of how things work, so please correct me if I am wrong.

The antenna to axle offset is used by the system to calculate what the position should be if the antenna was located over the axle (0"). If the offset is set to 0 then no more calculations would be required so the processing speed should be faster (ez-steer response time should be better). If the offset is set to anything other than 0 then more processing would be required therfore decreasing the processing speed, (ez-steer response time slower). To my way of thinking there would be very little difference between the speed of processing 1 inch or 100 inches. So then how much of a difference does moving the antenna a few inches really make, or is something else at play?

Thanks in adavance.
