C-IL
All displays use 12 volts to power up and function. A CAN voltage system uses voltage to send messages from one monitor to another. the early Deere displays use a 4/5 volt system, 4 volts being the low side or CAN low, and 5 volts for CAN high.

The newer systems, ISO standard, is 2.5 volts.

If these displays are mismatched there will be system miscommunications and they will fail, sometimes burning out the Control Boxes.

The newer original displays, Brown Box, from Deere are DUAL CAN and can adjust to 4/5 v or 2.5 v automatically.

All new GS2 systems are 2.5 v only and cannot be used with the older 4/5 v systems.

I don't mean to be wordy but this is how it was decribed to me. I hope this helps.
