SOILcattleman - 12/4/2014 20:45 Your not bidding against me on any of the gilts at Conover's are you?

I never looked at Bryce's auction.  Looks like I should have!  There were quite a few no sales.  I think you could easily pay for one for under $1000.

I have a mess at home and I am going to take the summer off.  Just a few jackpot gilts and the neighbors barrows.  I want to put steel on my pig barn and get it tightened up.  I had pretty low conception rates due to my poor management and I need to take a step back.  With that said...I may buy a gilt or two down in Joliet.  A follower NATer is hauling 3 bred gilts down so we will have a trailer down there anyhow.  They sold a little weak last time I was there and I have a feeling sows will be high again in spring.  If you get 3-4 show pigs out of the litter you will have the sow paid for and you can ship her.  I may as well fill all the crates if I have to heat the farrowing house. :)
