| So long story short custom baling is a bust in my area..... Go a head and say I told ya so! So I've got a 2011 Vermeer 604sm with 2400bales on it half paid for which I had to spend a lot of my own money on to make the payments. We bale about 200 4x5 corn stalk bales for our self and 50ish straw bales also 4x5. I've looked around and found a new Holland 7060 with 2500 bales which were 100% alfalfa my baler on trade plus a couple thousand $$ and I'd own it outright. Or should I just keep mine now and keep making big payments?
Any suggestions as to what you guys would do or should I just cash in the baler and get mine custom baled as well?
The only reason I'd want my own baler is to control when I get my bales made vs waiting in the custom guy also we will be expending our operations in the next 2-3 years so we would need 800ish bales total in a year 3/4 corn stalks 1/4 wheat straw.
