| I should add that "holding some cash" does not mean under the mattress. I'm not a believer in the likelihood of a "Mad Max" scenario. I simply mean keeping a small percentage of assets in cash to counter the bulk of it that is in farm land.
As for governments - they all become corrupt, don't they? They can start out with the best of motives, but they all get corrupt. Who would have ever thought that if we elected (what appeared to be) a liberal black president, he would destroy a great many of our rights? And that he would be owned by the big banks?
John, I think we have enjoyed probably the best time in history to have lived. While it is impossible to look ahead with any confidence, I see a whole lot of red flags waving on the horizon. And there is nowhere to hide. My solution? - go fishing more often. (g) | |
