N FLA | Hauled 11 spring calves to sell, weaned two big heifers to keep, have a pile of fall calves on the ground, looks like I have 29 bred cows yet to calve, mostly in November to December, and checked teeth on the few open cows bought this fall and will keep solid mouth cows to run with the bull on rye January. Think I'll feed silage to others and sell for weight gain.
Trying to sync this herd up as October to December calvers. Can then raise calves on rye/ryegrass December to May.
Planning to send broke mouth cows/pairs over to feed silage at another farm.
This sale should even put a little jing a ling in my pocket and maybe get more heavy breds.
Here is a video of the peewees that we didn't sell. Had 5 calves this week. Getting good now.
