Honestly can't figure out how it would help getting less dirt in the baler. Having the windrow laying on top of the stubble keeps the tines out of the dirt altogether. Been baling lots of stalks almost flawlessly all week, come yesterday and didn't work worth a darn. Cornstalk baling=ulcers.
