Subject: Dumb question about silage

Watford City, ND
I've really enjoyed everyone's pics from this fall season - especially the silage, earlage, and HMC pics and videos.

In my neck of woods (Western NoDak) there is very little silage made. So, my question;

How much silage is fed (as is) to a critter? I'm asking more so about brood cows, as that's what I'm familar with.

Here, cows are typically drylot fed from Dec til late April. The vast majority of guys feed dry hay, and may supplement with grain of some type.

Thanks -
