mn | I wasn't saying it was a conspiracy, that they are out to get the farmers, or that it was even happening. I was merely asking if it was a possibility.
These are just example numbers, but just say it takes $10 mil in corn contracts to drive the price up. Now say the insurance company is looking at $50 mil in claims. Why wouldn't they risk buying the $10 mil in contracts to possibly cut their claim payments in half?
I'm not saying they are screwing us, it would just be a simple business decision that could work out for them. Apparently that strikes some nerves. | |
