| I know of one group this year that made it policy for operators to clear out the bale chamber twice a week so they could keep on top of dirt accumulation. In their case that's about every 500 to 700 bales. They're running a different brand of balers and aren't battling the stuffer chute, but it's the same difference; dirt is a constant battle with corn stalks.
I know in their case they use large shredders and bale the windrows left by them. Any raking just accumulates more dirt. | |
