Subject: RE: Outdoor Hog Feeder

Hardin County, Iowa
We have Osborne feeders as well as Pax conventional feeders. We always start little pigs (less than 60 pounds) on a conventional feeder. It seems harder for the little pigs to move the wheel and get feed into the trough. I love the Osbornes for the bigger pigs and market size hogs. It is easy to get feed moving after a big rain by just spinning the wheel by hand. The wind can blow a lot of feed out on windy days. Paul
Edit to add: We used the chop saw and cut another notch between each existing notch on the adjustment wheel to facilitate finding that "sweet spot" - still not perfect but better.
