Nice thing about this volatility is that I can still lock in a good profit on feeders with either puts or contracts. Once covered I quit worrying about everything falling apart. I am always wayyyyy behind the curve on everything. I thought the prices should have been going up two years before they did, and I think they should be volatile but stay over a good profit for at least two years. I can't really see anything crashing the market after the resilience I have seen already, there is just not enough cattle to go around.
I have NEVER been able to lock in as good a profit as I have been able to do the last three years. I feel real good , if I was shooting for the moon I would feel very uneasy.
Even the smaller cow calf guy sould be looking at LRP for their calves. Its good to throw away some of the profit and sleep good at night.
