Few details. The blocks came from the local cement plant. They are 2x2x4 feet and cost $20 cash each. They weigh about a ton (2000lbs) each. I was hauling 15 on a load on 2 wagons. It was enough behind the tractor in the picture.

Not sure about crisscrossing them but I put them that way because there is really nothing behind them to support them, especially at the upper layers. (if this works good, I may go 1 layer higher yet) and I didn't want them to move. The "long" way they really should only be stacked 2 high if pushing from the side.
