Honestly, dont know why they sold, but if my place was that big and had that much value, and all the head of cattle could be sold for the numbers you are getting today it would be really tempting to sell and retire. Funny thing is if you gave me that kind of money I likely would be buying land in Montana for a cattle ranch to retire to...so not really sure what I would gain.
