niobrara nebraska | Kind of exciting to be feeding couple hundred head of pigs again. Farrow a few and then usually buy feeder pigs. Was real good money till 2012 with no corn raised. So we cut WAY back. But, this turn has to be the best that I've seen for potential. Granted the corn is only breaking even out here in Nebraska but by "walking it to town" saving a bunch on trucking and increasing the gross dollars. Probably won't sell any of the 60-70,000 bu of corn we will raise this year. Normally we sell 50% and then buy back distillars for the cattle side of things. Just really exciting to be in livestock for the first time is quite a while!!! | |
