Farmington, Mo | George, I will agree with you on this one! Funny what a little adversity will do to the overall mood of people. I have been fighting this same sentiment from my father all year in regard to shrinking crop revenues and a new rental agreement with an old landowner that he despises. I keep saying that we are in better shape than most and will weather the downturn just fine! We have cattle as well, so since they are at record prices, that softens the blow quite a bit. On most days, I wake up in a good mood and stay that way till he gets to the farm...after that its a struggle to stay positive after talking to him. I'm sure once we get into harvest, his mood will change a bit as it looks like we will have some stellar corn. However, in the meantime, I wish he would snap out of it! | |
