I have been down this road before.  They both are about a wash as the "cheap" packages have nothing you want to watch and the "good" channels are on their upgrade which will make them both about the same price.  Plus they give you all those Spanish channels that noone watches on the cheap packages.  I go exclusively streaming via free services, websites and independent content creators for my entertainment and good ole OTA for the rare occasion I want to watch a fooseball game.  I use my computer connected to the TV but their are stand alone boxes with web browsers ect.. that you can hook up too.  It ain't perfect but now all I have to pay for internet service which is cable so it is fast.
