I'm an alumni of the Univ of Alabama and a true fan of the Tide (and other schools too; not a traitor, just a fan of good college football).
Unfortunately, in my state, where college football is just one notch below a religion, it seems that we don't remember that the opponent (and their fans) are our guests and should always be treated as such.
While our teams usually play with character on the field, I can't really say the same for the fans.
It seems really strange to me, the worst behaving fans usually have no connection whatsoever (other than as just a fan) to the school which they are rabid about.
You want to see ugly, come down here when Alabama and Auburn play. Homicides have occurred over that game (I'm not kidding).
