All of a sudden we get a flush of lawn moles. Might have a old fashion spear trap. Any poisons that actually work??

I had on /off again problems with lawn moles for years, finally 2 years ago, a large area of the lawn that had formerly been infested with moles, turned brown and died.
Folks on NAT said grab a handful of grass and pull gently. The grass came out easily with no roots attached.
The NAT folks said "you have a huge infestation of lawn grubs and they are killing the grass by eating all the roots. They also said the moles are there because the lawn grubs are good eating for them.

I treated the dead portion of the lawn with a granular insecticide for grubs, wet the area with the sprinkler for several days to get the insecticide down in the ground to the grubs. After a re seed, the grass grew back and the moles left, as their grub food supply was now gone.
