I was there a few years ago, Bristol was know as a wild race track, the cars could drive anywhere. They repaved it and the groove moved to the top of the track. They ground down the top groove a year or two later and the old excitement still has not returned but maybe that is because they are all driving basically the same car set up the same way. When I used to be a fan you could tell a Ford from a Chevy without looking for a sticker on the car (like a grill sticker).
