S.C. Wisconsin | These days refrigerators are not made to last much longer than 10-14 years. When we built our new house some 15 years ago the freezers and refrigerators failed at about 13 years. I noticed that the cooling units buit by the GE family were the first to fail. In out tenant houses the GE family products also didn't last so we avoid anything built by the GE family. Maybe they are better these days but they have left me with a bitter taste. Some say Samsungs are bad but we have Samsung in our dairy barn in hostile environment it has been good for quite some time. Check consumers report on percentage of repair problems. This post has reminded me how things have changed in our area. There are no longer any small town appliance dealers left, if you want any appliance you have to go to a big box store. | |
