Genoa, Illinois | We have tried the steak or pork chop dinner thing and it worked good for a couple years then the profits dropped rapidly. With 4H doing pork chops we went to ribeye dinner, but when one of the elementary schools started doing it we just could not compete. We have been fortunate that the school district now has 42 acres the we farm for almost nothing. For the last several years we have gotten by with 6 acres. Hopefully the new land will give use the revenue we need to put up a new greenhouse at the high school. The FFA chapter as well as other clubs, other than sports, are only allowed one fundraiser per year. | |
