Washington, Kansas & Lincoln, Nebraska | That's unusual! Normally they pop out of 2nd! That can be as simple as dirt and chaff built up on the shift mechanism at the transmission or as bad as gears worn enough to gradually work it out of gear. Would guess 3rd popping out would have to be detent, shift rail or an internal gear wear issue. I'd check the detent ball and spring first. |
