Yes you can. I started doing this a couple years ago. I only grow Ambrosia sweet corn and I do not let it get too mature before freezing it. I don't know what other varieties of sweet corn would taste like after doing this, but it works just fine for me. You can always try it and if you don't like it...don't do it again. It is certainly not going to poison you. It certainly makes the process a lot easier.
