Faunsdale, AL | Most stages of rye would benefit from wilting a half a day or so. Only time I would not is if the grain was in a soft dough stage.
How much you wilt it is going to depend on what you're storing the silage in. More wilting for upright silos and less for bunkers........Bags can handle a wide range of moistures and make good feed, but there are still limits you do not want to go beyond or you may make some problem silage. | |
