Franklinton, LA | There is an old song that says Fairy Tales Can Come True and it can happen to you. Well, computers can also crash and it can happen to you. A little over a month back a lightning strike came in on the phone line and took out my 5 year old computer. About a week later the phone company repaired their line so we had phone service again. About two weeks back another lightning strike came in on the phone line and fried the phones. Again, it took about a week to get the phone line repaired. Since that time I have replaced the phones and purchased a new computer. I do not like the new Windows operating system. I am still trying to install software and data on the new computer. Maybe I should have gone to a Pawn Shop and purchased a 4 year old computer! Last December I backed up my data on an external hard drive which I keep in another building. I am hoping I can retrieve more recent data from the old hard drive. | |
