That reminds me of our Bipole III hydro electricity transmission line fiasco. All because our former Premier (now Canadian US Ambassador) wanted to create his own legacy by creating an UNESCO Site on the east side of Lake Winnipeg, so going to take the long route around the west side of MB & across a lot of productive farm land in southern MB. All because they don't want a transmission line R.O.W. cleared through the bush & swamps on the east side.
