jmo but if just enough rain is dropped the next several days and it won't have to be much to satisfy Chicago then the controlling weather news will be the cooler than normal for 10 days in the heart of the cornbelt where the crop looks the best. I feel for you guys up north. Remember how long the spec funds were going into this and they are still trying to get out and be short. jmo
FWIW we went thru July last year in NE-ILL with 2-tenths of rain. Saw what was a 200+ corn crop back down 30-50 bushels and that is no exaggeration. It was the coolest drought we ever had. The core areas are still good and intact for yield but it looks like there are some fringe areas getting dry. Always have some every year. |
