Central Texas | When I have one like that, will flush it with peroxide after draining. Just put 25-30cc in a syringe without needle, stick end of syringe into cut and squirt it in. Will foam and fizz but helps flush it out. Seems these abcesses are full of anaerobic bacteria and the oxygen given off by the peroxide is toxic to it. Big shot of oxytet is probably good also, but main thing is to get it open and drained.
IMO- better to make the incision too long rather than to short as short can close up before infection has quit draining. | |
